I am a current student at Mission Collegiate High School and I have rated this school with five stars because I honestly think that it is a really good school for anyone who focuses on mostly academics. It is a high school that gives you the opportunity to get your associate's degree since it is partnered with South Texas College. Even though it focuses on academics, it still allows you to do sports, band, color guard, theatre arts, etc. It also offers extracurriculars like robotics, debate, etc. It also offers clubs like the literature club, gaming club, etc. It also offers a health science academy where you can earn a Certified Nurse Assistant Certification, and other various certifications in the health science field. Overall, they offer many great opportunities that help reduce the cost of college and that help you get a job as soon as you graduate.
Mission Collegiate High School gave me the opportunity to involve myself in a dual-enrollment program. This program has shown me the possibilities of my mind. Mission Collegiate truly demonstrates what being a 5-star high school is. The environment is peaceful, the teachers are amazing and respectful, and the students treat each other with respect and maturity. Mission collegiate high school gave me the opportunity to develop my intellect by providing challenging classes that will forever help me in life.
It's a fairly small school, so there are a few teachers in each department. Most teachers go out of their way to ensure a student is on the right track and they deserve credit for that. Academics in general are about average, if not below because a lot of resources aren't accessible due to the small school size. Should focus on broadening their AP and College readiness not just limited to community college. Usually little to no diversity since everyone comes from the school next door. Has about 2 security guards which is fair enough, so safety is average.
