I am currently a Senior at Mission Bay High School. I've attended MBHS for all four years. My experience at Mission Bay has been great. I was encapsulated by the eight period day which allowed me to take many classes I wanted. There are many great teachers here that I will remember for all my life. I have also been in the music program for all four years. This program is amazing and the instructor is great as well. My experience here has been better compared to word of mouth from friends at other schools, which I appreciate. If I had to suggest some negatives, I would say that the school is on the smaller side. All in all, I have enjoyed Mission Bay as the high school I attended. The IB Program is great too!

Mission Bay High School has had a positive impact on my life. I was given support to help me succeed not only academically but also mentally. During freshman year I struggled with depression and had one suicide attempt, and when I came back to school I was opened back with welcome arms from both staff and students. I was paired with the school psychologist and talked with him almost everyday until late sophomore year. Our school psychologist, and many other teachers have helped me get out of the rut I was once stuck in, with their guidance and support I have joined The National Honor Society, and become the commissioner of publicity. Yes, this is sappy but I have given Mission Bay High School five stars because with this schools help I have been able to succeed not only academically but as a person. Everyone has a different high school experience based on what they make of it, and certain individuals at Mission Bay High School have helped me have an eye-opening high school experience.
At Mission Bay High School, the best way to be involved is to volunteer and join ASB in school activities. Joining clubs and sport such as Key Club and Cheer leading help to boost self confidence and going life long friendships. The teachers make sure that each student is comfortable in their environments and stay on task with grades and they are actively involved in each student's needs and requirements. The one change that I would require is more clubs that support and benefit military children and make the transition from one school to another easier. Mission Bay does not have a club that allows for all military children to come together and communicate as well as doing activities together, when there is a military community close by. I believe that with the club, more students will be able to come together and share their experiences as a military child and relate as well as providing advice to others in a safe environment.
