My 2nd child is twice exceptional. Meaning he is high functioning autistic & gifted. He works awesomely at MAS because they work with each student on executive function and advance planning. Yet every 20-30 min they have the students move to the next learning center. This breaks up the learning into chunks that most students' bodies & attention spans can handle. My 4th child is dyslexic and has other anxiety issues & is assisted daily with learning to bring her reading up to grade level by reading 40 min a day every day in two - 20 min chunks. I have seen all four of my children bring their grade levels up from below grade level (one at grade level) to ALL above grade level / ADVANCED!
Mission Achievement and Success Charter School is a very pro-academic school. Students are very interactive with their teachers, and are constantly encouraged with a hope for the future. There are a few flaws.
Most of the time, the students are happily encouraged to prepare for college and do their very best with each test, big or small. But the environment is bland. High School students expecting a college-prep program are told to walk in lines, sit in certain places for lunch, and get escorts to the bathroom. It does not paint the picture of a college atmosphere.

My experience here at Mission Achievement and Success Charter school was really improving. At the school they really push their students to do their best, they will sit down with the student if they are having problems and help the student find a solution. A good thing that the school does is that they will take the students on to college campuses that way they can experience the campus. One thing I would like to see improvement on is for their graduates they have salutatorians and a valedictorian since they didn't have one for when I graduated from there.
