Mineral Point High School is located in one of the world’s biggest small towns. Many families in Mineral Point have as big of a reputation the town itself. This could make the school bitter and unaccepting or warm and friendly, and the later is certainly true of Mineral Point High School. Unlike many of my classmates, I don’t have a special connection to Mineral Point, I’m the first in my family to graduate from this school, but I can say firsthand that this community and school have brought me up like one of their own.

I would like to also say that the school is in a small town, so when it came to my final years in high school, I was only able to take a couple of common AP courses like Calculus, English, and Government. There aren’t any designated expert teachers in more diverse fields like Computer Science, Robotics, or any Foreign Language other than Spanish.

MPHS has scored in the top of Wisconsin schools when it comes to statewide testing. The teachers for the most part, give 100% and care about the students. I feel like the teachers and administration are very approachable. Safety has never been a problem. I feel if anything could be improved it would be more college prep classes. I would say 1/2 of the school students are there for the social and sports, while the rest are there for an education. Would like to see more clubs offered.
In Mineral Point last names are very important. If you are not born with a certain last name, you're a nobody. There is favoritism and no equality. There is also no diversity, which makes everybody that goes to the school extremely sheltered and uneducated about life after high school. I personally feel as though I would not succeed in life if I relied on the school as my sole education.
