I have had lots of great memories with everyone and it has been some great high school years! I have made many friends which I did not expect to have and now I have them!
It was an average school system that accomplished what it sought to do. The biggest change that could be made would be a system more dedicated to protecting students. The number of times I watched my younger sisters get bullied by other children and saw the administration do nothing to combat what was going on was insane. You can't preach that you're for the children and turn a blind eye when they're struggling not to drown.
I liked that the teachers were involved in the learning, actually cared for the most part about their students and wanted them to learn.
Overall my experience at Minden High School has been extremely pleasant. I was homeschooled up until my Junior year and Minden helped me adjust to the different life of a public schooler and encouraged me to try many new activities such as One Acts and Speech
Minden is a very welcoming school. You get super close to the teachers, have nice class sizes, and good class options. You are invited to take part in multiple athletics and activities. An extra plus we have off campus lunch along with a new facility. We have a big community support from our residents and we are pretty close to Kearney or Hastings if you need more to do.
The best part about Minden High School is that the teachers care about students learning the material. They care about each individual student. I would like to see some staff changes: a couple don't seem fit for the job.
The teachers are very focused and get their work done.
A lot could be done to make it better.
It could be a lot better. The computers are old and some don't work at all sometimes.
I got sick many times eating their food. The packaged stuff tastes kind of good, but the meat just doesn't agree.
Not a lot of enforcement, but the dress code isn't a problem.
This school pays a lot of attention to your grades, and action takes place if you don't have the requirements for doing other activities.
If you really want a good education then you can get a good academic education here.
I am involved in many extracurricular activities and find them all very enjoyable. All of them are full of fun activities that everyone can participate in. FBLA is a fun organization that everybody can participate in with a variety of activities. The activities range from raising money for organizations or going to conferences.
Sports are very important here. Academics can go by the way-side at times. We can be have a lot of school spirit at times and others we have close to none. The parents are supportive of the students and tend to blame the refs if we lose.
Some students that deserve to be disciplined are not because of their parent's status or how much money they have. Overall the administration is friendly and involved. The guidance counselor is very nice and pleasant to be around.
My experience at Minden High School has been good because I've made friends and had some teachers who have helped me to grow in my abilities. However, it also has not allowed me to fully explore all of my interests because of its small size and limited programs.
