My experience at Millwood highschool has been overall well but they have a lot they could work on. There's not much college readiness and there's not much help with finding scholarships or help with colleges at all from the counselor. The staff overall are really great though, they're friendly, helpful, and understanding when they need to be.the food there could be improved a little more, they really just need more options in the cafeteria as a whole. Sports are really big at Millwood, and they have a variety of different clubs ie. Multicultural club and more; the student bodies is really friendly as well.
I wish I could write a short essay about my school being welcoming and open to new and better things, but I would be misrepresenting my experience. My personal experience at Millwood was ok. I have attended Millwood since the 6th grade and I never fit in. I was bullied for years and I always found myself fighting or constantly defending myself against students and sometimes even teachers or administrators. Most of the time if the teachers or admin had their favorites, it would be the fault of the least favored kid in any situation and circumstance that you can imagine. I pray that college will be a different experience and I hope to learn and experience a new wave/era of my life. School is meant to be a welcoming academic and fun experience, not a traumatic event.
I loved the culture, school spirit, and sense of family. I came to Millwood as a Sophomore and they welcomed me as if I were a "lifer".
Millwood is what you make of it. If you chose to take advantage of all the opportunities provided, then you will learn and gain so much. The best part about Millwood is the family-focused environment; I’ve met some of the best people in my life at Millwood. We are a very proud school, and improvements are being made to the areas that are lacking. Overall, Millwood has given me the tools needed to be successful in the real world and I am thankful for that!
Millwood High school hasn’t always been the best but when the current Superintendent Cecilia Robinson Woods took over there was a big change in behavior and in attendance.
The community and student/advisor care is great it's just the education and orderliness of the school is not great.
So far I have been at Millwood for around 2 years now. I think it's a really good school academically. The only thing that I personally don't like about it is the dress code. I'm tired of wearing the same boring uniform everyday and tucking in my shirt. The clear backpacks we have this year are necessary but also unnecessary.
My overall Millwood experience has been great. I have had a lot of great teachers, and it's been a great experience.
I would like to see the science department change. We have a science lab that is understocked and feels unused. I feel that the science lab should be stocked with chemicals and a green house to study plants in. We have bathrooms that are broken and sealed off that stink because the janitors won't do their jobs.
Been at Millwood for 15 years the best school to me they treat you like family and make you never want to leave
My experience while being at Millwood has been good . The staff actually show that they care about the students and put in the initiative to help and prepare students for college. Something that should change within the school would be the dress code and the cellphone policy, the staff are kind of overly possessive with those rules. Overall the environment is very family like, because we all basically grew up together.
My experience at Millwood was very wonderful one! I loved every moment of it , the teachers made me feel very special. they always made sure every student was staying on task and was doing their work. Millwood is a very good recommended school for academics and sports.
Millwood is very unique in the fact that it is a small district. There are only about 1,000 students from Kindergarten to 12th grade. My senior class only has 62 students. For this reason the student body is really close.
Our district is also very poor. We don't have many of the other options like districts in neighboring cities but we make the most of what we have. Other schools may have more to offer and I may have missed out on a few things like participating in show choirs or musicals but the camaraderie I have with my classmates cannot be overstated. The school is small enough so everyone gets to participate in activities if they want to. This is something I know would not happen at larger schools.
I will always look at my time at Millwood with great fondness and I believe I have been blessed to have been a part of such a unique institution.

I've been at Millwood all my life so I really don't know any other people and all I've seen is Millwood curriculum. As I get closer to graduating I've been getting more and more frustrated with the school. Most frustrations come from their focus areas and the amount of effort the put forth.
I like that Millwood is a small high school. Everyone knows each other and the teachers care about their students.
Everything about Millwood met my expectations. Over my four years attending school there I've met some really cool people and had fun playing sports there as well.
If I could do it all over I would choose this school it's not the best school but what school is, there is a lot of things that could be improved but I've had some really fun times attending millwood. I think how dedicated the teachers are to wanting the students to learn and not only trying to be a teacher but becoming a friend to the students is what's unique and how dedicated the students are to sports. The love for football and soul bowl and how dedicated the students are to showing up for practice and how determined they are on being the best and winning the games is what I think is unique.
