Millikan High School is such an amazing school! It is the only school in the district that has the “Block Schedule”, a schedule system where you alternate between classes every other day instead of having all classes in one day. This unique schedule system allows students to 1. Have extra time to finish homework/projects, 2. Give students more work time in class, and 3. A “fresh” new system to follow. The school has mini organizations called SLC’s, or Small Learning Communities , based on your skills and interest. There is Compass: Students who specialize in the arts, MIT: Students who specialize in technology and computer science, Peace: Students who specialize in community services, MBA: Students who specialize in buisness and economics, and Quest: Students who specialize in high standards. All of the SLC’s are unique and accepting of everyone in them. Other students, the staff, and teachers are always willing to give a helping hand and enforce the rules respectability.

I'm extremely grateful to have attended one of the best high schools in California. I'll never forget all of the memories I made, from my involvements in ASB, hoco week, dances, & clubs.
It was because of the amazing, caring and passionate teachers, admins, and the College & Career Center, that I'll be attending a UC/one of the top universities in the country. In terms of college prep, the academics are quite rigorous (if you are in one of the more competitive SLC's), but if you learn how to balance your involvements you'll be fine.

How to make your time at Millikan worthwhile:
*sit in the "student section" during football games
*Go to FREE tutoring offered in the library!
*Go to sporting events
*Join activities (ASB or Focus) or clubs
*Become friends with upperclassmen (they can help guide you through the journey)
*Study hard (use Khan Academy) & have fun (attend all school events)!
*Have School spirit!

Millikan is a really open high school that has tons of different opportunities for students. Besides the struggles with a few teachers through out the years, I had a wonderful experience here. The community and vibe through everyone's attitude is very positive and encouraging!
