Millikan High School is such an amazing school! It is the only school in the district that has the “Block Schedule”, a schedule system where you alternate between classes every other day instead of having all classes in one day. This unique schedule system allows students to 1. Have extra time to finish homework/projects, 2. Give students more work time in class, and 3. A “fresh” new system to follow. The school has mini organizations called SLC’s, or Small Learning Communities , based on your skills and interest. There is Compass: Students who specialize in the arts, MIT: Students who specialize in technology and computer science, Peace: Students who specialize in community services, MBA: Students who specialize in buisness and economics, and Quest: Students who specialize in high standards. All of the SLC’s are unique and accepting of everyone in them. Other students, the staff, and teachers are always willing to give a helping hand and enforce the rules respectability.

Millikan High School is a very diverse school- many students go there for that reason! Bringing so many students together with unique cultural or economic backgrounds and a wide range of abilities and talents allows others to build connections and learn many things about the people in the world around them. Millikan High has many academic and extracurricular opportunities for students. Our district is especially proud of our Khan Academy partnership that guide and prepare students for AP testing (covered by the district due to a grant!) and SAT prep. With many encouraging teachers/staff, rigorous courses, and extracurriculars, students are able to prosper as individuals in the 4 years they spend at Millikan High School.
I like the diversity of this school, and all of the programs that the school provides for students. Students here can choose to enter one of Millikan's five pathways throughout all their fours years. Millikan is also a very welcoming school that is full of energy and positive vibes, from students, to staff, to administration. There are a lot of events and extracurricular activities that helps students get together as a community and celebrate. This school allows students to challenge themselves, and the teachers and other staff members here help students work hard and discover their passions and interests that will help students thrive in college and beyond.
