Millennium prepared me for college so well! Throughout the college process I felt like they really explained everything and tried to help students as much as they could. In general Millennium is not an easy school, you are constantly challenged and their are high exceptions set for each student. The homework load is quite extreme and it only piles on as you move up. One issue that I had was that tests/quizzes were piled onto one day which made it stressful for students to study for multiple exams. Additionally, projects were also stacked on top of each other and due on the same day-- talk about missing sleep! However, this all prepared me for college when I look back at it. It's a breeze for me because I learned how to manage my time and write an effective essay in a night. Do your homework, participate, ask questions and seek out help as well because teachers are more than willing to help out students who want to approve!

I had an overall positive experience at MHS. The school was known for being relatively prestigious and being located in the middle of an office building. Having graduated from MHS for a few years now, I can reflect on what I liked and what I would have liked to see more of. I would have liked to see more cohesion amongst the students. Oftentimes, people gathered and hung around their "cliques," rarely having genuine interactions with others. This could have been accomplished with more student clubs. Although a few clubs existed, more clubs would have increased student cohesion, amongst many other things. However, I will give MHS props for having great teachers, many of whom were involved in students' academic and social lives!
Aspects of life at Millennium High School that elevate it above competitors are its commitment to community service and its supportive staff members. Community service is ingrained into the curriculum through Millennium's requirement of community service for a student's overall grade. To facilitate this process, Millennium offers many opportunities both inside and out of school for its students to perform the service they need to do well in class. The community service requirement is a great way for students to learn and gain an appreciation for their communities, and the work that is needed to maintain them. The yearly Foreign Exchange program at Millennium thrives on this ideology, with entire trips dedicated to serving communities outside of New York, such as China, the Dominican Republic, and Peru. The other aspect of Millennium that sets it apart from other high schools is its incredibly supportive staff. The teachers at Millennium have genuine love for their areas of expertise.
