It's quite a challenging school, especially if you don't consider yourself to be smart. I myself had a extremely hard time in school and in certain classes because the lessons weren't to my preference so it was hard to follow along and understand the materials given during class. However, the staff and teachers are very helpful once you go up to them for a one-on-one session to discuss on what you are specifically struggling on, whether it's for an upcoming test, project, or just class work they are willing to help. I'd strongly recommend for those that are going to Millennium High School to start developing good relationships with the teachers so you are comfortable to go to them for help in the future as the materials for me were very confusing and difficult. But I had fun! Good Luck!

Millennium prepared me for college so well! Throughout the college process I felt like they really explained everything and tried to help students as much as they could. In general Millennium is not an easy school, you are constantly challenged and their are high exceptions set for each student. The homework load is quite extreme and it only piles on as you move up. One issue that I had was that tests/quizzes were piled onto one day which made it stressful for students to study for multiple exams. Additionally, projects were also stacked on top of each other and due on the same day-- talk about missing sleep! However, this all prepared me for college when I look back at it. It's a breeze for me because I learned how to manage my time and write an effective essay in a night. Do your homework, participate, ask questions and seek out help as well because teachers are more than willing to help out students who want to approve!
Millennium certainly sets high expectations for their students and offers various rigorous courses such as AP classes. And with the emphasis on high achieving grades, the school encourages students to strive for the best, which models an environment that the Specialized High Schools also offer. However, Millennium could certainly improve on training teachers to be more understanding, supportive and helpful in the students' learning process as often times, I would hear students complaining about how certain teachers aren't teaching anything or how they are unreasonably strict.
