Millburn middle is a great school academically, the social aspect is different. There is definitely A LOT of social pressures, you just need to find a good group of friends. Also take advantage of your teachers, most teachers are there to help you after school. 8th grade is very tough in every aspect, just work hard and you will be fine.

If your child is a fit-in-a-square-peg kind of kid, he might be fine here, but this is a very tough, unforgiving social environment for kids who are not in the MIllburn mainstream (spoiled, entitled, white, narrow minded). Diversity is non existent.

Some teachers are wonderful, but there is little thought to issues like homework, stress and differentiated learning.
This was a good school with good teachers, but the staff that managed the lunch process were rude and yelled a lot. Overall, a good atmosphere and competitive classes.
