The teachers care. Frustrated with the legislation's attempts to just pass students through school, the teachers here really aim to TEACH you the skills and knowledge. They have recently created a college readiness program that allows students to take streamlined AP courses so that they can leave high school with an Associate's!

The staff are a strong support system to the student population, and the school overall has a lovely accepting aura of diversity in many aspects: race, sexuality, gender, ability, etc. However, the school doesn't always feel adequately funded for the ideal learning experience, sometimes squandering intended benefits. Nonetheless, the school allows students to participate and contribute to great degrees, within student government and clubs/organizations and in partnership with outsider associations to best boost the school experience and outreach to the community itself.
Millard South is definitely an above average school experience where the faculty and teachers genuinely care about your four year journey. I felt like I belonged at Millard South the day I stepped foot through the front doors of my freshman year. As a student, you don't feel like you need to fit into this "mold" of being cool, trendy, popular, or whatever. You can be yourself around other people who are themselves, and I find so much comfort in that. I would highly recommend Millard South High School to any 8th grader or any student looking to transfer schools. It is a welcoming experience where you are cared for and protected. Education is very important to Millard South, and I fully believe that's why I did so well at this school specifically. Even when things get tough, especially now, Millard South has gone above and beyond my expectations. Millard South High School is definitely a diamond in the rough.
