I love how diverse Millard North is. You are introduced to people of diverse backgrounds, thoughts, and experiences. Also, there are many ways to get involved and make an impact at our school. You can join many different clubs and activities to explore your passions. You can also customize your academic experience at Millard North. There are college level, honors, or standard courses here. You can academically challenge yourself or take the classes best suited to your needs. Overall, Millard North has great resources and experiences to prepare you for your future!
Millard North is honestly a really nice school, both in its visage and in its education. I really feel like I get a rigorous and thorough education here, especially considering the wide variety of AP classes we have and some classes even past AP. There's a lot of flexibility within the schedules/classes we can take, and our extracurriculars (particularly basketball and more artsy organizations) are plentiful and packed. The big events are also great, especially Homecoming and Prom, even if I myself may not like how packed some of them get (pep rallies, for instance). However, the main problem that I have is with some of the administrative choices that have been made in recent years, a lot of things that really have been changed just to be changed, like the class schedules this last year taking a few minutes away from lunch to add ~2 minutes to each period. Lunch is now quite crowded, and I feel like classes feel the same in general. Maybe I just can't notice the good difference.
My time at Millard North High School provided me with many beneficial academic opportunities that set me up for success in my future college years. Not only through the variety of clubs offered at the school, but also through the strong connections I have made with fellow classmates and community businesses. I think the only thing that was something that I felt I was missing out on had to do a lot with school traditions. Such as homecoming, prom , and football games. The rules surrounding all these major high school milestones restricted my ability to experience the "true American" high school experience.
