I was only at MillRiver for my senior year of high school but the time I was there was pretty great. I transferred from a very small school of about 150 kids so the change was pretty drastic but the teachers made me feel very welcomed. Compared to other schools the music department is just phenomenal, so many different choir groups to join and opportunities for all students and all forms of music are taken very seriously. They have many different AP programs I wish that I had access to before my senior year and the easily accessible option of early college at Castleton nearby for free. And there’s A LOT to do after school, most of which I didn’t do lol but I hear great things from others. Many classes to choose from and they make sure you get at least one break during the day and I will say the counselors and nurse are amazing! Wish I could’ve had more time, I think if I had been there for all 4 years of high school I’d be more than ready college!

I like Mill River because of the student involvement that the principal and teachers allow. The teachers are involved with the students and will never turn someone down that is seeking help. The guidance office is a safe place for all students to go for academic or social help. The school takes great pride in their students and will do anything to watch them succeed, our school moto is "Respect self, Respect others, Respect tradition". The athletic program is amazing, with the football and basketball teams being cheered on by our state championship winning cheerleading team. Not only are our arts and academics great, but our arts program is amazing. Lead by Jt (Mr. Taylor) new students through AP, explore their artistic talent and channel it through their amazing pieces displayed throughout the school. I would highly recommend Mill River Union High School to any student looking to attend.
The athletic programs at MRUHS are terrible. Poor sportsmanship and poor coaching. There is clear favortism at this school in the classroom and athletic setting. Many of the teachers are disorganized and do not understand proficiency grading. Things tend to get swept under the rug here and only certain kids matter. Guidance does nothing to help the students with college planning. I would not recommend this school, especially if your child is an athlete .
