The majority of people did not enjoy their middle school years, and I am apart of that majority. Sixth grade at the middle school was an interesting transition from elementary and my teachers were not very helpful. Seventh grade was not any different. Neither was eight grade. Honestly, my middle school years are forgotten years.
Although, I had issues with my teachers in every grade, my counselor was the worst. As a counselor, you must be willing to help your students, be compassionate towards them, and be an overall nice person, but my counselor were had none of those characteristics. I once asked her to help with me switching out of art because the teacher made me uncomfortable, and she gave me attitude. Like, it was not her job.
Mililani Middle School will always be a school that I have a strong opinion about due to my experience there. The staff, the environment, and education is entirely average.

I do not care for this school. Some staff were incapable of their jobs in my opinion...especially in the office. Most are confused on procedures and feel they make some of it up as they go. One VP had absolutely no responses when confronted on things he had told my stepchildren's other parent about warning continuously on an issue claimed to be a policy AND that he spoke with me(found NO evidence in their policies and my kids had to point him out to me because I never saw him before!) then he "passed the torch" to another VP. Some time later he had even gone through the kids to thank us because we changed our routine "to accommodate him"(not exact words). I also agree with the other review that some teachers and office staff seem as if they hate their job or just don't want to be bothered, others are great. Communication from some teachers are horrible and some security has power trips but "Mr. A" was great and nice. Off and On we're given a hard time.
I liked that there were some very good teachers there that really cared about their students. There were a few teachers there that seemed to hate their jobs and made class hard for all the kids. The administration was poor because they did not do anything when kids were being bullied. When parents complained about the same teacher, nothing was done. The school is very crowded, so the school schedule is pretty sad as you might not be going to school the same time as your best friends and so you don't have anyone to hang out with or work on homework and projects with. Some teachers went out of their way to make the school a happy experience by letting kids hang out in their class during recess and lunch, which was nice.
