Before attending Milby my Freshman year, I was a little unsure about going there due to the fact it was a new school. On the turnaround Milby High School is a great place for all students, administrators, and even parents. They have various programs like Medical, Engineering, culinary, construction, welding, ROTC, dance, cheer, art, music, and many more for the students to have the best education they desire, and to also have fun while learning! Milby offers a daycare for any student parent or any parent in the community, making it easier for students to go to school! Milby also offers a Baylor Teen Health Clinic and it ranges from ages 13-24 years old. They provide FREE quality primary and reproductive health care to females and males. Their services include annual check-ups, STI, screenings and treatments, pregnancy test, Birth Control, and much more! The School and District gives everyone a chance at success. Where at Milby High School, failure isn't an option.
The friends I have made at this school were incredible while the overall education could have used the improvement. Certain teachers knew their respective curriculums better than others and others were better at communicating with their students than others as well. For every instructor who cares for their students and the subject at hand, there is also the occasional teacher who puts less effort into making sure the student \properly grasps the concept.
This is my first year at Milby High School. I am a transfer student who was looking for better opportunities, better friendships, and better involvement. I am proud and happy to say that I have received these desires. I feel that milby is a safer environment, and an overall more welcoming environment. I am involved with dance and many clubs and I love it here. We are number 1 in our district for academics and I was looking for that competition here and it’s exactly what I’ve found.
