Mifflin County High School sets its students up for success for life after high school. Many of the teachers and administrators educate students on college and other vital aspects of it such as federal aid, scholarships, grants, interest rates, loans, etc. The teachers are very approachable in several ways, both as a teacher and a counselor if one is going through a rough time. Several AP classes are provided to students to prepare them for the college workload and their prospective major. Other classes, like Personal Financial Management, are provided to the students to learn about other vital skills including balancing a checkbook, calculating a mortgage, learning how to do taxes, writing checks, conducting an interview, budgeting money, etc. Outside of the classroom, several clubs are provided to the students to express their interests and meet new people.

This is like any typical high school. They put together many assemblies, have some clubs on the side, fair share of good and bad teachers, etc. There was nothing particularly special about attending this school. What I liked the most about it was the array of electives you could take, compared to other schools in nearby areas.

The academics were fairly good. The office ladies were great and friendly and including the guidance counselors, whom were extremely helpful.

The only true issue I had with this school was the heads of the administration. They did not handle issues regarding students appropriately, throughout my time at this school. It felt pointless bringing your concerns to them, as they seldom handled student related issues professionally nor maturely. Lastly, as it is at many schools it seems, sports were the biggest thing at the school.

MCHS is not a school I found myself being glad I attended but it did make me grateful I didn’t attend one that was even worse.
Mifflin County high School prepared me for college. The honors teacher encouraged hard-work and dedication to our studies, while also teaching us valuable life lessons. I am so thankful for their instruction. The music department is phenomenal!!!! I will always recommend being involved in the arts at Mifflin County High School!!!
