As a Midway Middle School student, I must say the school is accommodating. The school reacted very well with the pandemic this year and still being able to teach us. They provide school tablets that allows to do school from home. There was also an option for the school to provide internet if you did not have any access to the internet. I am currently a Midway Middle School Virtual student and as of now I haven't had any trouble accessing my work. The only reason I didn't give the school 5 stars is because the school has a large amount of Coronavirus cases and still hasn't closed down. I feel that the students that are attending face to face at the school aren't very safe.
I went to a bunch of school growing up but this was the best one. Teachers are very helpful and teach you a bunch before you move up a grade and they get you prepared. Sport teams are always winning coaches were the best. Food was pretty good. The school is clean bathrooms, classrooms, gyms and etc. I was able to get high school credit while in 8th grade and if you want to be challenged and get to college early this the school to go to. Parent involvement is off the charts they help with everything. Safety is excellent there were rumors about shootings but the police and the school took great care of it. The culture is very good they bring in everybody as a human being they treat everybody the same no matter the race or anything they love everybody. They have the newest IPads and let the students take them home and work on their work outside of school. The administration ares about every student they greet you everyday they even walk up to you to talk about your day or anything.
The teachers of Midway Middle are overall quite friendly and approachable. In my two years of being a student, I recall having a poor experience with only two teachers. This however, was vastly outweighed by the helpfulness of all the other teaching staff. They encourage struggling students to come in for tutorials before or after school where the student can get one on one or small group help. My fellow students and I were also encouraged by our teachers to think individually and originally; something that I find all too rare in a world where many a time, students are taught what to think instead of how to think.
I would simply encourage the teachers to be more consistent in their communication with students and parents. Other than that, the teaching staff deserves a solid four stars.
