My experience at Middletown was a good one. It has excellent academic diversity (ranging from low-level classes to AP) and some truly wonderful teachers, although there are of course those that don't even come close. Middletown is a very football focused school, due to having a fantastic football team, but it also makes sure that all of the other varied teams have decent fields, equipment, and uniforms. I joined plenty of afterschool activities over my 4 years and enjoyed each and every one (cheer, tennis, spring musical, chorus, National Honor Society, and softball). Middletown also offers the very unique opportunity of a school-based health center, where students receive free physical check ups and can visit the school therapist. Overall Middletown has a faculty and community that cares very much about its student, and it shows in every aspect of the school.
My experience with Middletown High School was acceptable, don't get me wrong the school itself is great but what high school you know is perfect? Middleotwn High School have a lot of opportunities and the administrations and staff help you get to where you want to go. For example we're always taking college visit even if you don't want to go to that college it's still an option. They also help you gain back any credits you didn't receive because you failed a class, this program is called credit recovery it allows you to graduate on time. They have many sports, activities and clubs to join so you'll never be bored with the school. Also they're classes and teachers are amazing, the teacher want to see you pass so when you start slacking they will notice it.
Overall, Middletown High School in Middletown, DE, was a pretty good school. Most of the staff I encountered wanted to help students if they needed anything and they encouraged students to continue to be successful after high school whether it be in college or working. The school offered multiple after school clubs, organizations, and sports. Most students were supportive, especially of the Best Buddies members, and I never felt unsafe or like I was going to be bullied. I think these are very important aspects a high school should hold.
