MCVTS - Perth Amboy is a small school but offers a wide variety of shops for students to be prepared for the workforce after graduation. Being a small school, it allows small class sizes and therefore teacher know you. What I would change? Sports at the school need more attention.
I believe MCVTS is still climbing up the ladder. They are a work in progress. More resources are needed especially in sports department.
I have attended Middlesex County Vocational & Technical School (MCVTS) - Perth Amboy since September 2019 and I love being a student here. The teachers are very welcoming to incoming students and are very helpful when students are in need of their help. The atmosphere is extremely welcoming and the students are respectful.
MCVTS Perth Amboy offers a multitude of classes that prepares students for work life. The staff provide an array of academic resources to both parents and students. The school also hosts bake sales and tournaments facilitated by students.
Overall, Middlesex County Vocational & Technical School (MCVTS) - Perth Amboy Campus is a great school. Great diversity, amazing and safe building. It's a small vocational school with many different shops to choose from. Everyone knows each other and it's a great community with also great staff.
Some teachers lacked the motivation to inspire the kids to become all they can. Not all but some. The resources given too us to further a career path in our shops are more then a blessing. The food sucks.
Great place. A lot of diversity and an all around good school. I graduated here in 2009 and only wish they had a reunion
I have attended Amboy Tech for the past 2 years and my experience over there has been very good. The administration, counselors, and teachers are always available to help. No school activities like pep rallies, dances, or anything school spirit related. Very few clubs that don’t actually do anything. Only 3 sports are available. When it comes to academics the school it’s good, and very easy to make friends.
I really enjoyed my time at PAVTS because of the great environment that was enriched in the school. This included the staff, students, coaches, and anyone else that made the school excel to the top of the ability. Someone that had a great role in the school was my Computer Systems Technology teacher, Ms. Haghighat. She really motivated me to peruse a career in Information technology and overall, I am forever grateful to have become a Patriot at PAVTS.
In my opinion, I feel like Perth Amboy Votech can be better than it already is. There are just a few errors in the education they provide. Some students aren’t able to take specific classes and the academic teachers teach differently. It was a good 4 year experience. Do i regret it? No , it showed me what my real passion was , with was to proceed with the major I had chosen.
The school itself was fairly easy to get though, without many activities to challenge the students. Readiness for the world and college after graduation were not really taught. As much as group work was fine almost every assignment was done in pairs which did not challenge us students. Shops classes gave a bit more detail into the career we had chosen.
All the teachers and staff are willing to provide help at all times. Any students that seem depressed or down will be approached by caring counselors. Since it is such a small school, about 300 students, everyone knows who you are and your name. All the teachers will get to know you pretty fast. Most of the students are good influences. Ms. Debra Haghighat is a great teacher and guide whenever you have trouble with assignments. The gym teachers are always interacting with the students. All the career choices that the school provides will set up any student who wants to succeed at great future.
Teacher are great and the school itself is new. small school with only 300 students. you get personalized treatment. people actually care about you.
Vo Tech was a very small quiet school. There were no altercations and everything was very safe. A lot of kids came from different towns so we have people from other places to talk to. Overall it was a very good school!
MCVTS in Perth Amboy is a small school, which I did not mind at all. There are a lot of activities hosted throughout the year. Overall, it's an "ok" school. The education is not the best and neither are the teachers. Out of all the teachers I had while I was there (for four years), only about 3 were good teachers.
its a great place to be in.
There are always different healthy food options for the students. There is a sandwich station that provides us with different combinations of our choice. A salad bar is also always available with different choices of vegetables everyday. The meals always change but stay in a healthy range. All of the snacks sold are healthy and low in calorie.
