The school has great opportunities to get a head start on college. They offer many rigorous courses including dual enrollment, in school and out of, and Advanced Placement. However, while the school is mostly focused on academics they also try to include the best high school experience. I mostly remember the camping trip they hosted and all the pep rallies we had. Attending school functions like basketball and volleyball games really put the cherry on top. Now that I'm about to graduate I look back on all those memories and I'm grateful that I could experience it with friends and classmates.
My experience here was pretty good compared to other high schools in Memphis. The academic quality is great and there are many administrators that are very helpful. The community as far as the students is okay too. For the most part, people are welcoming and open to others. Although, there are a couple things that I would change about some administrators and certain things about how they handle incidents, such as, fights and rape allegations. But other than that, this school is better than many.
Middle College High School is a mainly student ran high school. The pricipal loves it when we come up with ideas that benefit the school and even the students themselves. The principal allows up to present our idea to the school or do things that not all high schools can do. For example, the principal accepted a request that the class of 2020 presented to her. She allowed us to make performances to the rest of the school and raise money for our senior dues. The principal even helps us out by inviting some of her friends to come and enjoy the events that were performed. We raised so much money that now each person has to pay around $50 instead of the original $545. This high school is a great school for academics and sports program. For example, we get to take college classes at Christian Brothers University or even on the high school campus. We have teachers that push us to learn everyday while also having fun at the same time.
