Our son is just finishing his first year at Mid Pen and so far, we give it an enthusiastic thumbs up. The kids are kind and accepting of each other, the student body is very diverse in all ways- and all are accepted. Athletics were high on our son's priority list, and the balance has been great! He has time for sports and homework, without feeling overscheduled! The teachers have been warm and helpful. Our son is really coming out of his shell as his confidence grows. We are so glad to see him happy and to know he is actually enjoying his high school years! That is exactly what we hoped to find! The administration is also very approachable and seeks parent feedback regularly. The parents are involved and supportive. All in all, it is an oasis of sanity in the middle of the frenetic pace of Silicon Valley.

Small school with lots of personalized education opportunities. Good school for people with learning disabilities or who need more attention. Amazing music program, good drama program, opportunities for art, sports, and everything large, public schools have such as dances, pep rallies, basketball, musicals, field trips, etc. Challenging and hard classes for those seeking a higher education, as well as slower paced classes for those who aren't. It is located in a bad area for traffic, but it is close to Facebook, Palo Alto, Redwood City, and other places with good food and fun things to do.
Mid-Pen is a true liberal arts high school. They allow students to choose your own path. They have the resources for one to achieve if that is what they want or they will help one finish high school if they want that. The school focuses on student wellness in addition to academics. Because of its small size, there are more opportunities for leadership positions in clubs and organizations. Students can explore what they are passionate about, in and out of class. Students are able to spend quality time with teachers, who become mentors to students. The small class sizes allow for more individualized attention so that students can succeed in a class. Additionally, most classes are discussion based, giving students the opportunity to interact and think critically. During my time here, I have found that Mid-Pen is the best high school and has directly led to my success.
