Miami Senior High School Reviews

Miami Senior High is one of the best schools I’ve ever been in. The only school I’ve ever liked. It is filled with so many different cultures and races and everyone is extremely accepting. It gives us many college opportunities including dual enrollment and AP courses. The clubs make you feel like you have made hundreds of new friends to hang out with, not only that, but the volunteering opportunities that the clubs contain are endless, and fun with friends. Most teachers are very friendly and focused on their job, if a student seems upset, they’re always willing to talk to them privately if needed. My mom is very included with my activities, she knows many of my teachers and has come along with me to volunteer and cheer me on in JROTC and other sport competitions. Additionally, the architecture and style of MHS is beautiful and unique, makes it feel like you’re entering a castle.
Great teachers, who although often showed favoritism many were AMAZING educators. They had a stupid dress code where you could not wear black pants all of a sudden. I also once wanted to do a Spanish Literature club and the student gov adults or whatever their jobs were didn't let me because they said a Spanish honor society (that hadn't been active in YEARS already existed). Ms Puentes single handedly put people through college so since other people don't do their jobs I was super lost at first my first year and low-key later on, too.
Also, during my senior year the Macroeconomics teacher left not even having gone through half of the material we were supposed to cover but we were still forced to take the test or we had to pay.
Honesty, a good school for academics, safety I wouldn't quite say so and not if you expect a lot of credit because they only give that to students certain people like. This is quite unfair but sadly get used to it.

Miami High gets a pretty bad reputation, I personally used to think it was a bad school that it until I started attending. The school is amazing all the teachers are super friendly and eager to help. The CAP Advisor, Ms. Punetes is phenomenal! Additionally, they offer so many club options as well as Honors, APs, and even Dual Enrollment opportunities for students! The school is definitely underrated.
