There are many excellent, smart, thoughtful, dedicated teachers at this school. They, along with other professionals, work hard to make it a positive learning environment. The school needs more funding to support academic related/youth activities such as afterschool programming.

I am an alumna from the Class of 2018 and would like to say that this is a progressive school in NYC. Students have the opportunity to reach out to teachers & guidance counselors in a smaller setting compared to other schools. I like that the school gave my peers and me the chance to explore different opportunities with the support of Outward Bound through its Expeditionary Learning curriculum. It's important to keep in mind that this school is unlike other public schools- since it gives students the option to explore options that would fit them and their plans post-high school.
I attended this school from 6-12 grade I enjoyed my experience here but it is a school not fit for everyone. Working through the Outward Bound organization, a lot of the learning is pushed differently than you'd expect. For me, going on trips and fieldwork was extremely helpful.
