Metea has a lot of resources for motivated students to succeed! Especially for students interested in the business field (there is the business professionals of America and DECA) and law/political science (youth and government). Overall, the staff is pretty decent for the humanities classes and just okay for math; however, much of the science staff are not well-versed in their subject and students should be expected to self-teach themselves. With that said, I have had my share of effective science teachers, but generally they are a hit or miss.
I have had a wonderful 4 years at Metea! the teachers are great and they truly want you to succeed. The school has a very positive atmosphere and the students take pride in the school and in themselves. The school staff believes in equity and inclusion for each student. There is a variety of clubs, sports and organizations to join. Student support is always there when you need it and the school campus is huge. I feel like my teachers pushed me to unlock my potential to be a great student and at the end of my 4 years it was bittersweet. The school culture was great and with everything going on in the world, I never felt that I was not safe at school.
This school is a great place for learning opportunities! However, they are very limited amount of choices and most clubs are not given importance besides the mainstream ones like DECCA, BPA, speech, etc. It would be really awesome if the school could spend more time advertising other clubs that would raise a lot of curiosity for students who want to go into more unique clubs. The school counselors and teachers don't do much for bullying either. Some of the groups in this school are very toxic and the school itself does almost nothing to combat this. It is also extremely lenient with vaping and drugs in the school which is pretty concerning. The majority of the teachers are kind and understanding, however there area also a few that quite frankly either do not know what they're doing or very rude towards their students.
