Dual Language gifted and talented program is why we have loved this school. The opportunity to begin exposure to Chinese was also great. The continuation of fine arts is also great and it helps also students to push to excel.

Academically speaking, Mesita is a terrific school. It's one of the few schools in the area that offers a dual language program that is delivered in a successful format. My only complaint is that school personnel are not always helpful.
The GT-Spanish program is week in math but worse than that, a GT program is supposed to celebrate creativity and kids who think out of the box in order to come up with new ideas. In Mesita that is not the case. They look for academically advanced kids and those out of the box are pointed at as problematic, and teachers give them a really hard time. My daughter had a teacher in second year, Blanca Zamora who made her life a hell in the classroom because she was not one of the quiet very structured kids. I really think that with her and trough her is that the bullying agains my daughter began. Administrators always back up the teacher when you have a complain. Their argument: In these cases kids are lying.
