The overall Merrol Hyde experience is very unique. Due to our small class sizes (between 20-50 kids per graduating class) everyone is very friendly and close like a family. At Merrol Hyde, the teachers and administration make it very clear that their priority is the students and that they will but out their best effort to make every child best prepared for the next step in their lives. Although we have to wear uniforms and the cafeteria food might be sub par, the academics, resources and teacher availability overall makes it a very pleasant place to spend Kindergarten through Senior year.

I have had an amazing experience at Merrol Hyde Magnet School. Although it can be difficult to thrive in such a small environment, my grade as well as school have become a close knit family. The teachers go above and beyond to help students understand and truly learn. Because Merrol Hyde has excellent academics, it can become a competive environment to learn in, which means that individual academic successes can seem minimal in comparison to your classmates. Because Merrol Hyde is a small school, the athletics aren’t great compared to other schools, but athletics become easier for everyone to get involved because of that.
I've been at MHMS since kindergarten. I appreciated that all the students were there for academic success, and not just because they had to be. At MHMS, the focus is on academics with independent thought. MHMS doesn't just want their students to memorize information and repeat it on a test or exam, they sincerely want their students to discuss ideas, question and test theories, develop their own solutions and master existing ones. MHMS has gone above and beyond in preparing me for my college experience.
