Merrill Middle School was good but only at first. I admit that teachers were very good teachers and the diversity was exactly like my High school. The parties and international festival that were organizied were pretty amazing only the unfairness was great. In my last grade, 8th grade, the lunchroom was split from boys on one side and girls on the other. We were to be quiet as well. Our school also organizes a barbecue for 8th graders. Our grade was very excited for it until we were only given pieces of a candy as a reward and staying in the hot sun as well. In my sophomore year, which is now, I've encountered the new freshmen from Merrill Middle School who told me about their wonderful experience after we left, their barbecue consisted of hotdogs, burgers and chips while we only received a piece a candy on ours. They were allowed to speak as loud as they want in the cafeteria and use the bathroom freely as well.
There is ZERO communication with parents. Administration is very disconnected and shows a ton of favoritism to certain students and families. If you aren't a "south of grand kid" your concerns as a parent will be blown off, or worse you will be the target of blatant harassment by admins.
