I think there was a mixed environment at this school. Mercy McAuley was founded in 2018, and two schools merged into one to form the school. I was a freshman the year the school was founded, so I've been here since the very beginning. Since the merge, a lot of the upperclassmen have had a bad attitude toward the school, but I like it. I think the teachers are extremely nice and understanding and will go out of their way to help any student. Personally, my favorite part about the school is the extracurriculars. I am involved in softball and many other different clubs at Mercy McAuley, and this is truly what makes it a fun school. It has been difficult to unite the students from two different schools and make it one big family, but I think the school has managed the best it can. I think the school will be even better after the senior class graduates because then there will be no more students from the legacy school.
My daughter is a junior at MMHS and this school has been a fantastic opportunity for her. We left our local public school to allow her a more comfortable education. She is in honors level courses and she is excelling. The TEA blended courses is truly preparing for college as she is challenged to think ahead, plan her work, and be an independent learner. The teachers are compassionate and giving of their time for help and solutions. The extracurriculars have something for everyone - she’s involved in Latin, Knitting, Drama, Gaming, but there are so many clubs and service opportunities. MMHS truly lives by the core values of the Sisters of Mercy and we are so glad she made the choice. For the location, central to all of Cincinnati, the price, and the challenging curriculum - you cannot beat the value.
I love my school more than anything. It is a great mix of fun and learning. We start every class with a prayer. This exemplifies our Christianity. We are core believers in excellence, non-violence, and leadership. We really do all of this throughout our lives. We have generations of families going through this school. It is a gorgeous building with antique values. It is more than a school to us, it is home to more than 300 wolves. We are the orange and the Gray, we will come through and show our pack pride. The best there has been, there is a victory in our stride. We are a community of women who stand together and make a united front. We are sisters under god and love every moment together.
