I am a Senior at Mercy McAuley, and this year was a very difficult transition as I was originally from Mother of Mercy High School. However, after a rocky first semester, the school is looking up. I am still getting a good education, but after a fabulous Italian exchange trip, I made even better friends. There will always be ways that schools can improve, and slowly but surely Mercy McAukey is too.

An interesting year it has been given the merging of the two schools. Lots of things I would’ve like to seen go differently but it’s alright. I’ve had a good time enjoying friends from my grade school that I’ve gotten a chance to reunite with and have also made new friends I would have never guessed I’d be friends with. I enjoy the track team and I am involved in co-founding the eco club. A lot of things are student lead but the administration is very picky about what they approve for us to be able to do.
Going into Mercy freshman year I was so nervous. I knew nobody that went there. Little did I know that my life was about change drastically. Mercy was so inviting and welcoming. It immediately felt like home. I got involved and met so many amazing young women that I meshed with easily. I honestly feel I could go up to anyone in the school (even if I don’t know them) and have a good conversation with them and if I had a problem they would happily help me. It’s one of those things that is so hard to explain but I can assure you that you can’t get that at many places. It really is a sisterhood. The academics at Mercy are phenomenal and I feel that my teachers have thoroughly prepped me for college and the future. I know that if I’m ever struggling in class I can easily schedule time with a teacher for extra help. Mercy has provided me with the best three years of my life and I couldn’t ask for a better high school experience. The circle of Mercy is timeless.
