Mercy McAuley High School Reviews
Rating 4.17 out of 5 48 reviews
I have loved my experience at this school. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I was on the volleyball team and we just recently won the state title in 2023, so that has been such a great thing to experience. The administration is probably the biggest downfall of the school. They always ask for students to come up with new and fresh ideas but then turn down everything we send to them. There changes being made in administration and new people are being hired but during my four years they have been the biggest problem.
In my high school career, my favorite part has been the community at Mercy McAuley and the friends that I have made along the way. While it has been challenging at times, having good connections within the school has made the experience worth it. A specific challenge I have come across is feeling heard at school. When it comes to things presenting a list of possible senior privileges, or trying to change the uniform policy to allow sweatpants in the winter months, students at the school often feel unheard and ignored. This feeling is what I think drives all of students together and helps us to create a community in which we stand up for what we want in the school.
Mercy McAuley was my home for two wonderful years. I originally went to McAuley, but after my sophomore year they announced the new school. During the first two years, they had a lot of problems to work out. However, as a school community we came together and fixed the issues that required our attention. I wouldn't change my experience for the world. My teachers all truly cared about me and I met some amazing friends along the way. Overall, Mercy McAuley offers interesting classes you won't be able to find anywhere else as well as extra-curriculars to fit anyone's interests. I was personally involved in the Women Lead program which is the reason I chose to be a nurse. I was also involved in Vocal Ensemble and the theatre department, both which gave me once in a lifetime experiences and memories I will cherish forever - and I know it will for you too!
