Mercy High School Reviews
Rating 4 out of 5 285 reviews
I had a great experience with Mercy High School. The feeling of sisterhood and school spirit flowed throughout the school. Students and faculty were so kind and wanted to see everyone succeed. The atmosphere of the school was safe and comfortable. The student body is not the most diverse, but there were various organizations/clubs to promote and celebrate everyone's background. Mercy prepared me extremely well for college. Furthermore, there are a lot of clubs at Mercy that targets students' interests and potential careers for the future. The academics challenges students to think outside the box and use critically thinking. Overall, Mercy improved my skills in every subject, especially writing. Because of Mercy, college has been easy for me since I was so well-prepared during high school. Similarly, Mercy has a good amount of AP classes to gain college credit. Plus, the cafeteria food was very good. I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Mercy High School.
I love Mercy! I am currently a Senior in the graduating class of 2022. I can't imagine having made a difference choice 4 years ago. I have great friends, feel extremely supported by the staff and teachers, and enjoy al of the activities and clubs I am in. Mercy creates the schedules so that student's can take whatever classes they choose, and most clubs are student run and created. Students have a huge leadership role within the school, and the sense of community is strong. It is not hard to find your group of people. There are classes for any student, from AP science and math classes to Directing and Acting classes. Students find their place within the school easily. The theatre department is amazing and nearly completely student run. The academic support for students is amazing as well. I have had amazing help from the counselors in my college application journey.
I have loved my experience at Mercy so far. Everyone always talks about how freshman year is the worst year, but so far that has been my favorite year yet. I felt extremely welcome by all the teachers and loved my biology and geometry class freshman year. I also love the off hours that Mercy has. They help me keep up with my work load and talk to teachers along with giving me time to socialize with friends. Sophomore year I did not enjoy my classes as much because my classes were harder and the teacher’s teaching styles were not as beneficial to me as freshman year. I love how the school is open early to do work and how there are silent study cubicles around the school. I also like how we do not have a lunch hour. It feels like we have much more freedom because of this and our off hours. I was scared for junior year and I can already see it is going to be a lot of work, but the teachers have made me feel like they will hep me as much as they can.
