Mercy Academy, established in 1885 by the Sisters of Mercy, is an all-female Catholic high school in Louisville that exists to serve young women by empowering them through an innovative approach to education that prepares students for real life within a warm and caring Catholic community. Mercy Academy is committed to offering a varied curriculum to a range of students seeking preparation for college, for work in an age of rapid change and, most importantly, for the real world. The major concern of Mercy Academy is the individual student in which educators strive to develop each young woman to her greatest potential and to encourage them to pass on the spiritual, cultural, social and intellectual heritage which have been entrusted to her.

First All-Girls STEM Certified School!
Mercy Academy was the first all-girls school in the nation to be STEM certified through AdvancED in January 2016! Our STEM program is cross-curricular, meaning STEM is not confined to math and science classes, but is integrated into other subjects, too. We prepare students for an in-demand, male-dominated STEM job market by exposing them to fields that most do not experience until college.
