Mercer School Reviews
Our teachers are hand-picked, based on how a student panel reacts to them pre-interview. If they get along, they have a better chance of getting the job. If they don't, they usually won't be hired. The teachers definitely help you with whatever you need, even in your personal life. They're more like really knowledgeable friends.
We have a lot of repairs that have needed to be done for a long time, specifically the roof. Technology is definitely here, but most of the computers are outdated or just completely useless. Guidance counselor is on point. Prep resources are too. Tutoring is nonexistent. Parents usually only get involved if there's issues with grades and such. Busing is fine.
There's not really anything huge going on. We have security alarms all throughout the school, as well as cameras. The police are just a quick call away, even though they mostly nail you for parking where you shouldn't because, well, it's a street. We have lots of special "code" policies that we practice throughout the year.
The administration will do everything in their power to protect the students. There's few enough of us that there's some female drama, but no fights or anything between the guys. Everyone's like one big family.
The entire staff supports you moving on to bigger and better things. You have ample opportunities to look at your paths and choices for the rest of your life, and I feel that it's entirely up to you on how well you do. You get as much as you put in.
There's a lot of clubs, but there's just enough that you can be a part of all of them. The commitment isn't crazy. The sports are a must, though. They need all the help they can get. The administration will support you no matter what.
The academics offered were probably like most schools
The food was alright. A lot of people enjoyed it, but I preferred to bring my own
