As a freshman, I wasn’t at my best. I had life struggles that clouded my goals and my family was losing to the struggle. At that time, I had no support at home and was lost in a pool of 4000 plus kids with no one to notice I needed help. My dad thought it would be best to move me to the school that I am currently at now. Thank God! As much as I fought leaving it; that move was the best decision for me academically and mentally. The support at Menlo Atherton High School has been a huge part of my success in my high school life and education. I am so thankful for the tutors at at my school that have made themselves available to support me.

I really like Menlo-Atherton High school because the various clubs and sports have allowed me to find new passions and create a community at my school. I have had some incredible teachers that are very passionate about the work they do and are trying to make students fall in love with learning.
My English teacher during my Junior year made me passionate about reading. I was never a strong reader and writer as English is my second language. He assigned relevant readings that fostered conversations relevant to what is happening around the world now. I learned a lot in his class. Similarly, my Biology teacher is extremely passionate about the subject he is teaching. He makes sure every student understands the concepts and uses memory tricks and analogies to make us understand hard concepts. I am extremely thankful for these teachers because they have taught me how to learn and love learning.
Menlo-Atherton High School did a great job preparing me for college and helping me figure out my interests. MA's got a spectacular football team and won the state championships in 2019. The college advisors are absolute units! The two of them answered all my questions about the college application process and have an outstanding amount of patience. Some of the teachers at this school lack enthusiasm in their field and some of the district's substitute teachers are total nut jobs that think of the students as snot nose, naive, incapable kids that are addicted to their cell phones. The school is diverse with students coming in with all sorts of different incomes, backgrounds and beliefs and this school has broadened my horizon with the subject matter taught and interaction with my peers. I'm a first generation college student attending a four-year university and I couldn't of made it this far without MA's staff and faculty. SKO BEARS!!!
