Menchville High School Reviews
Rating 3.65 out of 5 397 reviews
My poor experience at Menchville isn't because the school is bad, but simply because of my lack of involvement in sports and clubs. Towards the end of the year, I realized the importance of school spirit and coming out of my shell, but by then, graduation was already around the corner and it was a little too late for me. Overall, Menchville is actually a great school. We're very diverse, the classrooms are decently up to date, and the teachers and staff are amazing. Like every school, we still deal with issues like bullying, fighting, drug use, and racism but our counselors and security officers do their job to make us feel protected when we walk through those doors. Menchville offers numerous activities for everyone to be included and our sports teams are pretty awesome! In fact, our girl's basketball team just won states for the first time in Monarch history.
Menchville is a great school, but it has its flaws. Menchville has a lot of great teachers, especially in rigorous courses like AP classes. A flaw of Menchville is a lack of discipline. Many students walk the halls and it's annoying to hear their loud conversations in the middle of class. While the administration says they will deal with it for the past two months, nothing has happened. This is because no one cares about it unless there is physical danger. Also, a disconnect between the administration and students leads to the administration making rash decisions. For example, the administration has locked half of the bathrooms throughout the school, so you usually have to search for an open bathroom and hope it has soap and paper towels. If not, then you have to continue searching.
Menchville High School makes me feel unsafe. There are so many fights, students vaping, or students doing other not so friendly things. The students talk back to the teachers to the point some teachers don't even fight back anymore. Some teachers at MHS are amazing and don't deserve this school. I never look forward to walking through the school doors. I'm only there to get an education and move on to a bigger and better school.
