Edmond Memorial has an amazing school culture between the student section, philanthropy weeks, and student/teacher relations. They offer AP classes and special interest programs such as DECA, FFA, and many more. The student body is close knit similar to a small school but has the perks of a big school. There are clubs for everyone and many sports teams. The philanthropy week creates a fun environment with dress up days, activities, and exposure to local charities and causes. Memorial has raised up to $700,000 for one year's recipient. This and the student section, Dog Pound, are great examples of student involvement.
When I transferred to Edmond Memorial for the 2019-2020 school year, I had no idea what to expect. At first the change from a class size of 30 to a class size of 700 was hard, but as time went on I began to make friends. My classes pushed me more than the small private school I was going to and I was being socially challenged more. I have now attended Edmond Memorial for all four years of highschool and wouldn't have wanted it any other way. The teachers are extremely helpful, kind, and supportive. The teachers truly want what's best for their students and want to see their students succeed after they graduate. Being at Memorial also gave me the chance to take classes that I had never gotten to experience before and have new opportunities within my education. Overall, Edmond Memorial has helped me not only with my academics but also with making friends, making life long memories, and several other opportunities over the past four years.
Edmond Memorial High School is a very welcoming school to everyone and has very strong school spirit along with excellent student coucil members. Especially during football games, our student section is regarded as the best in the district with passionate school spirit that our team needs. Edmond Memorial's assemblies are very fun and are made sure to give the new freshmen a comfortable envirnoment. Overall Edmond Memorial has great athletic teams with an impressive volleyball team.
