My experience at MPMS was very good. The teachers were great, and humanities was especially fun. The math was hard the first year because it was hard to catch up with the other students, but the remote learning helped me get back on track on that subject. However, this was only because I was in the SUMA program. The non-SUMA people had different experiences. Because the other classes were less tightly knit, you could be easily excluded. I also didn't feel safe in the hallways due to the other students in school and the lack of care from the staff. The education is significantly lower than the SUMA students as well. So basically, if you aren't in SUMA, attending MPMS will probably be kind of... a bad experience for you. The band program is amazing though.
NOTE: The school is falling apart in a way since some teachers (including the SUMA teachers) are transferring to Tumwater instead, so this year will most likely be very different from the last because of that.
(lunch is okay btw)

I went to this school before COVID hit and in my 6th grade year.It was a a pretty good school for me.I am white but there is a lot of diversity in that school which is good for students to be around. The teachers are pretty nice or at least most of them. The counselor doesn’t help you with any of your problems in my experience. There is some drama though in the school just typical middle school drama.I have seen people bullying other people quite a few times though.Other then that the school is decent because it has an amazing amount of diversity and decent teachers.I would recommend you send your child to this school as I had a great time.I moved to this school in October 2019 and people were very welcoming.People would offer to help me find my classes and the person next to me introduced me to her friend group.
The only students happy are summa students. The teachers are leaving, it’s falling apart. Full of future el chapos!
