At times, when the school was a middle school, we, the students would have to do 'silent lunches', where the dean would tell everyone to be quiet and shut the lights off if he thought we were misbehaving. When the school transitioned to K-8, it was not very smooth, as many teachers, though qualified taught to ages they did not seem to understand personally. Field trips were few and far in between. I missed one day for my grandfather's funeral. That was a special science fair kind of day. For the next three years I had to miss out on it because I missed it the first time. My friends told me it was the exact same thing every year, but I never got to experience it. The teachers were not very adaptable to my brother's disability and they made snide comments to each other about my class when they thought that we were not paying attention. The PTA had little funding. The sex education program was good, the group that came in to discuss that took their work seriously, therefore, my classmates took it seriously. I do think McTigue can get better, but the teachers, students, and parents have to believe it and work at it.

The nurse is rarely available. Counselors are only available to certain students that they like. Kids are bullied and the teachers seem incapable of handling the new age groups that they have been assigned to since the school switched to being a K-8 school. The security guards are around. But when it snows, the shoveling is not done soon enough, nor is the salt put down fast enough.
The PTA is small, on a rare occasion, you might see a counselor or a nurse. The computers are okay, but they could use an update. The science labs are in good condition, but if students continue to mess with them, there won't be any emergency wash or microscopes left anywhere in the school. The buses smell, but they run well.
