Every student contributes at McNick in an experiential environment of doing — not watching. Customized learning and leadership programs help students make a difference in this close-knit, faith-based community and beyond.

At McNicholas, students have more opportunities to get involved and make their presence felt. We offer 45 competitive sports teams, over 40 extracurriculars, service opportunities, mission trips, award-winning visual and performing arts programs, partnerships with professionals, and a broad array of opportunities for students of every interest and talent.

McNicholas is a terrific high school. Their motto is "Find Your Brilliance," and I feel the teachers, administrators, and coaches are all dedicated to bringing out the brilliance in each and every student. From their terrific Sail Program, designed to help students with learning disabilities, to their wide selection of AP, CCP, and Honors classes, they both challenge every student and promote academic success. Their athletic facilities are superior to those of many much larger, better known schools. McNicholas offers a HUGE variety of classes and electives, ensuring that every student finds something interesting within the curriculum. For example, their architecture program offers a four-year track with competitive portfolio-based acceptance, unheard of at the high school level in Cincinnati. I would say that if you have a student with an interest in pursuing a career in architecture, you will not find a better choice of schools in the city, if not the state.

Review McNicholas High School

I cannot say enough good things about our experience at McNick. Each of our kids have different academic strengths, and McNick is the only school that has helped our gifted kid continue to be challenged and our kid on an IEP be guided to success in the classroom. The amount of clubs is outstanding -- there is literally something for everyone! The sports program is simply amazing and completely student centric -- so much has been invested to ensure the safety and strength training of our kids. On a final note, we were slightly hesitant about sending our kids to a parochial school because other schools in the area shied away from addressing important issues such as social injustice and mental health & emotional learning. McNick approached these topics with sensitivity and objectiveness creating a compassionate community of students always putting service to lose less fortunate.

As the parent of a freshman and a senior, I cannot say enough good things about McNick. My daughter (senior) has absolutely blossomed..she has grown into a smart, confident, faith-filled, compassionate young woman. My son (freshman) is being challenged in the classroom and on the athletic field and I have already seen so much growth in him. The staff and teachers care so much about their students--and I can't believe how hard they work! They truly care. They talk a lot about family at McNick and it really is true. They support each other, build each other up, and challenge each other. I am grateful that my son and my daughter found a home at McNick.
