Attending McMinnville High School has been an amazing experience. I can confidently say all staff are there to support the students. I have amazing relationships with multiple different teachers and advisors. The staff is dedicated to making high school a great experience for all students by planning inclusive activities, creative projects, events to acknowledge the mental health of each student, and much more. Three years ago they sent out a survey to students allowing them to share their thoughts and concerns regarding the dress code. Because they allowed us to use our voices, students were able to change the dress code regulations and create a more comfortable learning environment where students are able to express themselves better. McMinnville High School is all about the students, and I'm proud to be a grizzly!
McMinnville High School is a school knows for its wide diversity and acceptance among its students. Students have a wide variety of clubs and sports to choose from, and lots of activities to get involved. Activities include monthly assemblies, numerous spirt weeks, homecoming and prom, red carpet walks (where students are given the choice to dance down a red carpet, that is randomly placed somewhere in the school, during passing time), and many other options as well! While McMinnville High school does an amazing job at making sure students feel safe and accepted, monthly advisory polls are sent out checking in with each and every individual student, and for those who need it, counseling and household items are provided to every student free of charge.
I wouldn’t want to go to high school anywhere else! The greatest thing about the school is the amount of resources available for students and their families, the staff truly care and are supportive. There are various clubs and many academic opportunities. The academics are great, especially the pathways, which you can end up getting internships in. I’ve never felt unsafe, and while it may be annoying that there is only one point of entry, it’s just one of the many ways that our school is kept safe.
