McKinley Middle School Reviews

I graduated from McKinley Middle School in 2013. Looking back on it, it never had the greatest reputation, but I had a decent time. The student body was diverse and no one was too picked on. For the most part, it was accepting. I remember being voted Class President my eight grade year. I was very excited about that. I was never very popular, but I knew everyone around me. I always put myself out there to become noticed in class. I think the community within the school was very open-minded because of this. Me, an average, not popular, non-athletic, bad skin, anxiety-ridden, and no-filter attitude, was never going to win that election, but then I did. I thought people would vote for who they knew, not the quality of the speech. That means they cared. Our faculty got changed often. We had three separate principles and our counselors kept switching between students. I think the community was lovely, but the organization of the building could have been improved.

I've met some awesome people there and I like some of my teachers, but some of them are really not professional. My math teacher just puts on a video and expects us to learn from that. I really did not learn anything in language this year, it was all review. We also have a mouse problem. Other than that, its a pretty good school
I enjoyed my time at McKinley. There were a lot of great teachers and other staff members that helped prepare me for high school and I felt confident when I left. The classes were challenging for that age group but it helped me learn a lot.
