Attending a high school for the next four years through your adolescent years requires a safe and positive environment. love the schools environment as I enjoy going to school everyday. The school pushes for the kids to work hard and be the best possible version of ourselves without the negative pressure. Although the school has over two thousands kids, the school is really close knit and makes the atmosphere comfortable and safe. As I approach my senior year, I can confidently say that Mchenry High school left a big and positive impact on my life.
During my experience and time at McHenry East Campus I had a great 4 years! My freshman year I was welcomed by a club called “LINK” (leaders inspiring new kids). They made all freshman feel safe and overall apart of the school. The first year at East i made so many friends that i still consider my best friends today. That same energy and mindset continued on to sophomore year. I started to make better relationships with my teachers this year. My junior year was the hardest but also the most fun! The school got a new principal who influenced me so much. Jeff Prickett is his name and i couldn’t thank him enough for changing the school and making school more fun! Mr.Prickett made academic changes, building changes, and most importantly teacher changes! Meanwhile, my senior year was also fun. I love the school i attended for high school. It shaped me into the person i am today and i am so grateful for that.
Overall, this school was an amazing experience. I'm glad I was given the opportunity to attend this high school for my 4 years. I had a great experience with the students and teachers. The only thing I would like to see change is the handling of incidents whether inside and in the parking lot of the school. I have had multiple people cause damage to my car and reported it, but the school said they would get back to and never did. Towards the end of the year, fights would break out maybe every week or every other week. Besides the need of them to gain better control, it was a great school to attend.
