McGinnis Woods School is a private school offering a rich Preschool through Middle School education. The beautiful school campus located in Forsyth County includes a Nature Explore certified outdoor classroom. McGinnis Woods is Cognia, GAC, and NAEYC certified and a member of the Georgia Independent School Association.

McGinnis Woods offers both in person and remote learning through ClassFusion. Instruction is designed to be hands-on with a focus on STEM learning. The school is a 1:1 iPad environment that features small class-sizes with teacher assistants and superior academics that inspire a lifelong love of learning. Classes are engaging and provide for differentiation and personalized attention.

Guest speakers and field trips, character education, leadership opportunities and community service round out the curriculum. Drama Club, Competitive Sports, Robotics and Science Olympiad teams train year-round. After school programs and Discovery Clubs are also available.

All four of my children have attended McGinnis Woods. The middle school program was amazing! My children had many opportunities to volunteer in the community, learn leadership skills in Jr. Beta club/ serve on student council, and participate in sports. Academics at the school are top notch and the students truly care about the students. Opportunities to participate in science/ technology fairs and project showcase give students the opportunity to hone public speaking skills. My children were well prepared to tackle the rigors of high school and beyond. It is a wonderful place to learn and grow!

Review McGinnis Woods Country Day School

This school has been wonderful for my son. It is a small school that offers all the things of a larger school (gymnasium, library, music program, sports, art…). They have handled learning during COVID very well and give parents options. The STEM lab is fantastic and each child has an assigned iPad to use when needed. They have a field trip every month- during the pandemic they have been in house. I am very grateful we were directed to this school!

My two kids have thrived in this family centered environment that places a solid focus on not only their academic growth but their social and emotional well being. They were provided opportunities to excel in the classroom as well as participate in leadership roles, community service projects, athletic teams and they both always felt like part of a family in their classrooms. The school’s ability to provide a stellar virtual school overnight during the pandemic was incredible. It was a seamless process with all the innovative technology that had been added to the classrooms and provided to my children. McGinnis Woods was truly their home away from home.
