Personally, McCool Junction High School has done so much for me. I have loved my experience here. My teachers are very involved and do more than just teach. They want you to succeed. Here, I have learned so much. Because of my teachers and coaches, I have developed as a person and know what I want to do with the rest of my life. I moved from a class A school in Lincoln, NE to a class D school in a town of 400. Although it is a small school, there is so much involvement from the community. Also, kids from other towns come to McCool to go to school. I love close relationships that I have with with my classmates and teachers. This year, we have won two state championships (girls cross country and football). Even with COVID, our superintendent is doing everything in his power to proceed as any other school year. I would say my overall experience is a 10/10.
I have been going to this school for five years now, and it is very different than the other schools I have been to. You feel like you're at home, that you have a second family you can count on. Walking in to school every day to see all of the staff and students, each with their own personality, it really does make you feel like you fit in. The teaching here is great, except I would like to see more of the one on one help with the students. At McCool Junction Junior/Senior High School, I would like to see more classes that help the graduating seniors move on into the real world. To tell them about the communication skills needed, the financial situations, and just general life skills that are needed for every day living.
I have attended McCool Junction since I was in preschool. I am grateful for this opportunity because this school has been like a second home to me. The students and staff are all very close, and they make you feel welcome. There really isn't anything about McCool that I would like to see changed. The people are kind and welcoming, and the academics have helped to expand my knowledge. It truly has been an amazing experience, and I am glad that I get to take it through life with me. It has shaped who I am as a person, and I believe that my life experience will be better because of it.
