McCaskey is a fantastic school...depending on your SLC and classes. Unless you are taking Honors, International baccalaureate, or Advanced Placement classes, you do not receive as much resources. McCaskey has a great tutoring program but many students do not take advantage of this opportunity. When I refer to lack of resources I mean- their inability to connect with students from low incomes or single parent homes. They tend to choose teachers or administrators who do not live in the area and unable to relate/connect to students. Furthermore, Based on observations, students are not given IMPORTANT information unless they ask for it (such as potential scholarships, college tuition free programs, or even starting the college application process before our senior year). However, despite everything there are some positives to McCaskey. McCaskey is very diverse and has fantastic Dual enrollment, music, and health programs. McCaskey is great even with flaws, I would definitely recommend it.

McCaskey is the most diverse high school in the Lancaster county area which provides a welcoming environment for students of all races, ethnicities, religions, sexualities, etc. They also have two campuses which does make traveling harder but it also means that there are more classes and teachers which helps to lower class size. McCaskey also has many chances for students to receive college credits such as their dual enrollment program with many colleges in the area and the IB program and AP courses.
Mccaskey, I really cannot find myself being fair to them in the sense that I wasn’t there for the whole Higschool year, but rather I was a transfer student. Overall, it was an eye-opening experience. A real life experience. This means you saw and heard things that you weren’t necessarily in favor of. Because it happens all the time. Good or bad, it’s there. I personally am glad I didn’t quit when I thought I was. I was procrastinating, and I would usually blame it on the teachers handing out easy assignments. Until I heard my English teacher, one of the few significant teachers in the climate. He said, “Success is determined on your input.”

It was more wiser than what I made it into a consensus of, but it helped me make it through my junior year, because I came from a technical highschool, where most things were filtered, we even had dress code. Some teachers were a hit a miss, but I’m blessed with the teachers I personally was able to meet. Thank you Mccaskey.
