From McCallie School

McCallie is built for boys. Located on Missionary Ridge in the heart of Chattanooga, Tennessee, we've been inspiring boys and building men for more than a century. Being a boys school allows us to create an environment that is tailored to the ways boys learn best, from classes with a focus on hands-on and interactive learning to serving a fourth meal every night when boys are at their hungriest! We offer a cutting-edge curriculum beyond the AP level in many subjects and offer elective classes that cover nearly anything a boy can imagine from robotics and marine biology to film production and 3-D art. We prepare boys to thrive in today's world through more than just world-class academics: we believe that boys should learn values that help them appreciate their role in the world and their duty to work on behalf of others. Boys are encouraged to pursue diverse interests: arts and music thrive at McCallie alongside a highly competitive varsity athletics program.

Our family has absolutely loved McCallie. Having two sons that board at McCallie, I have witnessed my boys grow in so many ways with the wonderful support of the faculty and advisors. McCallie gives young men the opportunity to grow intellectually, socially, athletically and artistically. What I especially love about McCallie are the relationships that are formed by boarding with others and having to depend on yourself and others for your success. This creates a wonderful bond among friends and faculty. The McCallie advisors do a fantastic job of helping the guys through the college application and selection process as well! Overall it is a fantastic school with fantastic faculty that truly care for the boys and help them grow into young men prepared for college and life beyond college. If you have a motivated young man that wants to be challenged and grow, McCallie is a great community for that to take place!

Our son is having an amazing experience at McCallie! The teachers, staff and administration are all incredible. When your son goes to McCallie you all become part of the "McCallie Family". They teach your son to be independent, a leader and to try their best and work their hardest. Honor, Truth and Duty is their motto. McCallie has helped my son become an athlete, a musician and a Scholar. And the fact that it's an all boys school allows them to become self confident and study without the pressure of impressing girls during the school day. We are enjoying watching our son thrive at McCallie!
The McCallie School is an all boys school, that is a day and boarding school. My experience at this school has been fantastic, and it has shaped me into a man just like the motto states "Inspiring Boys. Building Men." Coming to the ridge and moving away from home was at first terrifying, but the faculty and students brought me in with open arms. From the friday night football games, to grinding out test I have made more memories than anyone else in a lifetime, and McCallie has propelled me for the challenges ahead in college. No matter how cliché it may sound I wouldn't change my 4 years at McCallie for anything in the world, it is a life changing experience. If I were a parent with a boy soon entering middle school or high school, I would most definitely look into McCallie and at least give the admissions office a phone call. It is the best decision a person could ever make!
