Mazama High School has been the place of many beginnings and ends. The atmosphere here is welcoming to all students. The best part about this school is the student involvement inside and outside of school. Classes like student government and service learning put work in 24/7 to provide service to the community and school. The administration works with students well in scheduling, often buying them free food and drinks to talk with them about their future. Our robotics program is excellent and has competed and won many times at the national level. Along with our clubs like FBLA and HOSA. Our sports teams are wonderful, along with our football team winning our skyline conference, and being the state championships in 4A in 2020. The Mazama environment is welcoming, and the overall school provides you with many helpful teachers, students, and administrators.
This school would have a lot of potential, but they focus too much on sports and put most of their resources into making the athletes' experiences great. Mazama has a lot of hard working teachers and staff, however their admin is cold and harsh. I am involved in a lot of clubs and sports, which they offer a broad variety of, along with classes and content. With the Oregon Institute of Technology and Klamath Community College close in Klamath Falls, students are able to take many classes for college credit at a discounted price.
My experience at Mazama High School has been very good. It is a school with about 600 students, but we each feel like we have part to do. The teachers and administration is great. They help us apply for dual-credit class and make sure we maintain a high GPA. Going to Mazama has been a great four years. Always proud to be a Viking!
