My school is very interactive and cares about its students. The administration would like to see their students succeed in every way possible. Whether it be from academics, to sports, and also just being you. What I would like to see change is the academic programs, I would like to see more students get recommended for AP, and IB courses. Even though some people aren't ready, the sky isn't the limit. Shoot as high as you can go and keep going!

My experience was fine, it's like most high schools, where you have some teachers who really care, and then others who just come for the paycheck. The actual programs are really nice if you choose to do them, and we students are given a ton of opportunities, inside and outside of school. The main problems I have with this school is, for one there is a preferred preference between IB/AP/Honors route students and the general kids and secondly, there's a complete lack of communication between teachers and students when it comes to information about college and which said routes (IB/AP/Honors)is best for each student.
I was not prepared for high school as for as maturity. I came from a single gender school and just was not ready. I had other issues such as bring shy and feelings of low self esteem. Upon learning these things some teachers embraced me and helped me with a lot of situations that I would have been otherwise lost. Although I cheered in middle school I wanted no part of it in High school because I didn't know anyone. One of the teachers found out, took me to try outs and I made the team..i cheered for three years but never felt the conradoship with my team mates. But the experience was good for me and it helped with my personal development. No school is perfect but Maynard was a good place for me.
