Mayflower Elementary School Reviews

1 review
Lacking security. Concerns shared with the Board of Education and MUSD and even our community leaders (police chief, city manager, city mayor) in vain. There is great discrepancy in security across the district. Events have taken place across our school district that would warrant improvements in safety and security, yet our school district remains silent and inactive. Mayflower Elementary is an unmonitored multi-access point open campus (not fully fenced) with public access to children’s restrooms. Children can be seen running out of their classrooms onto the surrounding streets with staff chasing after them. A couple of instances where children were off campus and not within visual sight of school personnel. Children are dismissed to the restrooms unaccompanied. We loved our school academically and the teachers we had were wonderful, but safety is more important than academics.
