My daughter loves Mayfield Woods. The student body is very diverse (as is the staff) and I love the community they create with their One Mayfield Days, after school activities, and other in school programs they offer. My daughter is on the morning News Team, drama department, Writers Guild, and the chorus. It is nice that students are able to build relationships with a lot of different students through the activities and classes offered. The teachers have been amazing and I appreciate them taking time during their lunches or Thursday study time to help kids with any issues they have. The administration is very communicative so I feel like I know what is expected.

It was my honor to spend 23 years of my professional career working at Mayfield. I was blessed and honored to be selected as one of the teachers that assisted in the opening of Mayfield Woods. I have always felt that this school attracts outstanding educators that work with administration to create an environment that encourages all students to excel. I am so glad to see that the Superintendent of schools realizes that how school communities are created is essential to the success ALL students. A student needs to see he/she can be successful by seeing others like themself succeed. As a community we can not allow boundary lines to create obstacles for success.
Most teachers communicate well with parents and report grades daily in the major subjects which helps the co-teaching needed to help students at home and in school. They've had to scale down extra-curricular activities due to budget constraints outside of their control, however, they have managed to still have some activities and do an excellent job at running the programs; to name one, drama/acting. Over 3 month timeframe teachers dedicated time and had the skill-set to train the kids to put on a full production of Peter Pan. My son was able to tap into talents I didnt know he had, all while maintaining an A/B average in all his classes. The teachers work wonderfully together, and the kids (my son) is excited to go to school everyday.
