Mauldin High School starts their students off from their freshman year looking toward the future while they excel in the present. They encourage students to begin earning the credits they need while they explore the classes they are interested in. Students are challenged to become artists, academics, and athletes - becoming a great all-around student and future college student or career worker. Mauldin High students have great school pride and earn thousands of dollars for local charities. Mauldin High School has a reputation for turning out great alumni who are proud to say "Go Mavericks"!
The first few years at Mauldin were great! I met a lot of great people, and I had some really great teachers. Mauldin changed to block scheduling starting the 2021-2022 school year, which definitely made classes more difficult. Especially with AP classes that were taken in the fall. Students had to wait a whole semester after taking the class before taking the AP exam. It was just very dysfunctional. However, the teachers, with an exception of a few, are very kind and genuinely love what they do, which I think is very inspiring.
Typical high school. I feel this is definitely one of the better schools in the area though. Admin seems to listen/care about issues and work to rectify them. Receptionist(s) and Attendance staff are so pleasant/helpful. My child has had teachers that truly care and go out of their way to help students and she has also had a few that are the total opposite. Thank God for tutors! I have never worried about the safety of the school. If your child puts in the effort academically and asks for help when it's needed, they will succeed here
