My son has had a great experience at Mater Dei. There are so many club/activites to be involved in and the students have the opportunity to push themselves academically. They prep and mentor the students on getting ready to apply for colleges, assist with the process and provide resources needed to guide them. Volunteering hours are required to graduate and they help the students find opportunities to fulfill their requirements. The school encourages the students to attend all sports games and makes sure that they represent the school and themselves with the highest regard. The sports are extremely competitive and it would be nice if there was the ability to have 2 teams so students who can't participate at such a high level of competition still had the ability to play and get the academic foundation.

I chose to transfer to Mater Dei at the start of my sophomore year to become a part of the Mater Dei Family—one that excels in academics, athletics, and community service. Now a senior here at Mater Dei, I do not regret my decision at all. Mater Dei has opened up numerous opportunities for me to better my education, athletic goals, involvement in community service, and my faith. Mater Dei has shaped me into the elite athlete and scholar I am proud to be recognized today. I believe that Mater Dei has prepared me to conquer any obstacle in my path—whether socially or in competition. I've been presented with countless opportunities to offer my service helping others. One of my favorites is the annual Special Games that Mater Dei puts on every spring. Special Games offers an exciting and eventful day for athletes from all over with disabilities. My teachers, coaches, teammates, and peers have pushed me to excel into the scholar athlete I am proud to be today.
The teachers here are the most helpful I've ever seen. They go out of their way to help students and are always available to help students. We have iPads at Mater Dei, and teachers are always communicating with us via email or blackboard. For example, when I was struggling in Chemistry, I told my teacher and she set up different times with me so she could help. She went out of her way and found different videos and worksheets to help me understand better. I will never forget that because I was able to pass her class with and A, and I couldn't have done it without her. Teachers here are there for the students, and for that I am very grateful!
