My four years at Mater Dei Catholic High School were the absolute best! I could not have asked for the best teachers or faculties. I received the best education I possibly could there. They always make sure all their students are taken care of and feel comfortable through everything. The sports and clubs Mater Dei offers gives students a chance to meet and engage with each other. Coming to Mater Dei during my freshman year, I was very shy and scared. Mater Dei made me feel like I was wanted and I belonged there. It felt like home. They helped me to open up to new experiences and be myself. Mater Dei makes sure they keep their students safe at all times. They accept foreign exchange students from all over the world and help them to feel at home.
I'm currently a Junior at MDHS and will graduate next year (2021). My experience at Mater Dei has been great. Our principal and faculty consistently strive to create a positive learning environment for all students and everyone is welcome. The students at MDHS are great and we encourage each other as well as celebrate, especially our athletic teams successes. In addition, our parents and our community are highly involved not only academically; but also, supporting our athletic teams. I highly recommend MDHS! We are all family! GO KNIGHTS!!!
I loved it, I wouldn't have been to a different school. The teachers are amazing, depending on the teacher that you have. The facilities are top notch, it seems like a college campus. The school really prepares you for college. The Curriculum is set up so that when you apply for colleges, you already meet the required credits for Cal States and UC schools. I will say that school spirit is definitely lacking but overall you will find that making friends is easy. The diversity is overwhelmingly Latino with no Asians and little African Americans.
